Current Work: Jay Peak Resort

Over the past few years Jay Peak Resort has been going through a multi-million dollar expansion that has been fueled by EB-5 investment money. Mike's Electric has been the local electrical subcontractor, working along with the general contractor DEW Construction, for the ongoing project. Bill Stenger, the President and Owner of Jay Peak Resort, has been working with MEI overseeing the construction of the massive expansion. "I am very pleased with MEI. They do outstanding work and their employees are from our community. It's a terrific example of a business that hires people educated and trained in Vermont; we are happy we can employ the home team." The construction includes five buildings and a parking garage, and as of today three of the buildings are open and operating.

The Tram Haus Lodge opened in 2009 with 57 rooms that range from studios to suites. The investment comes with two restaurants, Alice's Table and The Tower Bar, as well as the Aroma Bakery, and also a fitness center known as Taiga Spa.

The nearby Clubhouse opened in 2010 as a summer golf lodge, and a winter Nordic Center. The second floor houses three suites that are available for rent, and the building includes a summer pro-shop, winter equipment rental and the Club House Grille Restaurant.

The Ice Haus, complete with a three story parking garage, was also added to the functioning facilities of Jay Peak in 2010. The NHL sized rink offers ice bound activities year round and can seat 400-500 people comfortably. The arena includes four locker rooms, a cafeteria and a retail shop.

The Pump House indoor waterpark will be coming into fruition December of 2011, with the Hotel opening the following February. Hotel Jay will include 170 rooms, 130 of those being suites, and will include a brick oven pizzeria, fitness center, coffee shop and more. The hotel is being wired with state of the art technology, including RFID (radio frequency identification) and fiber-optic networks. The conference rooms will be equipped with amazing audio and video options to help manage today's digital conference needs. The New Hotel will be in conjunction with the highly anticipated Jay Peak indoor waterpark, which will sport the largest retractable aluminum framed roof that OpenAire has ever built in America. The multi-million dollar investment will include an enclosed Aqua Loop and double Flow Rider as well as all the other amenities of a complete indoor waterpark.

MEI is very proud of this current project and hopes that our families and friends return to see our masterpiece.

Past Projects

Premier Coach Line

Mike's Electric was responsible for all of the electrical work at our two new facilities, one being 67,000 square feet and the other 37,000 square feet.  Mike's completed the job on time and the craftsmanship was as good as I could have possibly hoped for!  Furthermore, the staff from Mike's were a joy to work with and true professionals.

In addition to the electrical work performed, Mike's was also responsible for installing our complete fire alarm system for both buildings.  We were very happy with the installation of the system and continue to be pleased with the functionality of the system.  We would highly recommend Mike's Electric for any electrical job as well as fire alarm installation.  Mike's has gone above and beyond to earn this!

I had concern in what I perceived as a small company from a small town, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the workmanship and the people involved with Mike’s Electric. They met with me daily and met my goals on this $10 million dollar project that included a complete electrical overhaul as well as installation of two complete fire alarm systems. The work was done in a first class and orderly fashion.

In addition to our complete electrical project, we also engaged in a contract for two fire alarm systems, ranging 108,000 sqft, with a brand we were not familiar with. We are pleased it is working to our satisfaction.
